MAUE Strings

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to our virtual MAUE strings program! We missed you so much in our physical classroom but we are glad that today's technology can offer us other ways to continue our class. In the practice room, you will find tutorial videos of how to tune your instrument, scales, and first-year through advanced group songs. We also will be adding videos depending on the students' demands.

STRINGS PROGRAM AT MAUE 2020-2021

Dear Students and Parents,

The Strings Program at Madison Avenue Upper this season offers VIRTUAL beginner and intermediate level group instructions in violin, viola, and cello to all interested 3-5  grade students, because of COVID-19. The classes will start on September 28. Students will have two online sessions after school weekly.  They also will receive instructional videos and will have an opportunity for direct individual video help when is necessary.

Students will be introduced to music theory and will learn to read the music using an interactive animated program(s). They will have an opportunity to learn to play different types of music, from classical to popular tunes and at the end of the school year will have a concert with all the pieces they have learned.

In addition, we will have an instrument maintaining day in person once a week for students who need help with tuning/checking their instruments.

We encourage MAUE students to sign up for classes. Learning to play an instrument helps students to develop creativity and self-discipline, and belonging to a school orchestra opens up a new world of friendship and fun. Instrumentalists can continue to study and perform in middle and high school. After high school, there are abundant opportunities for playing a stringed instrument: university orchestras offer generous scholarships to string players, and many areas have community orchestras. Some students may even choose to pursue music as a profession.

The tuition for classes is $250 per school year payable by September 24, 2020. That does not include instrument rental or purchase. Students must provide their own instruments, and we will email a handbook that includes some helpful information regarding instrument rental or purchase. Please, do not purchase an instrument without checking about the size with us!

If you are interested in the program, please complete the form below and send it with the payment to the following address: Hristo Hristov, 325 Wood Duck Circle, Brandon, MS 39047. Checks should be made to Hristo Hristov. For any additional questions feel free to text us or call at 601 201 8383/601 201 8558 or send an email at jasausra@yahoo.com.

Mrs. And Mr. Hristov - Strings Program Teachers
